The architectural design retains the original character of the building to celebrates the building’s agricultural heritage by retaining and enhancing its character, while introducing carefully considered interventions that provide modern living standards and enhance its relationship with the surrounding landscape.

Located within the South Downs National Park, the scheme has been informed by a thorough understanding of the site’s context, the existing building and its heritage significance. Developed through close collaboration with specialist consultants, the proposal responds sensitively to its setting, ensuring the conversion respects the distinctive qualities of the National Park.

The result is a sustainable family home that preserves the barn’s intrinsic character while securing its long-term future through a thoughtful and well-crafted design.
