South Coast Property Roundtable

Following on from our win of Architectural Practice of the Year at this years South Coast Property Awards, Darren was invited to participate in a round table discussion last week, with the other winners from this year’s awards.

The open discussion looked at opportunities and challenges we all face within the vibrant property sector across the south coast, including changes to the planning process, opportunities within the commercial sector to encourage staff back into the office, and how to make full use of technology to increase efficiency.

The organisers are looking to write a full report on the discussions, which we hope to share soon.

Judging Homebuilding & Renovating Awards

Darren was once again invited to be on the judging panel of the prestigious Homebuilding & Renovating Awards, in partnership with The Times and The Sunday Times. The panel of eight expert judges had the enjoyable task of reviewing all the award entries, whittling them down to a shortlist of just 25 properties.

From this list they will now need to agree on the winners for each of the categories. You can also have your say, by voting for your favorite project for the Readers’ Choice Award – click here to vote.

 

Congratulations to all the shortlisted projects, the winners will be announced in the January edition of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, on sale on 4th December.

Architectural Practice of the Year

We are absolutely thrilled to have won Architectural Practice of the Year at The Business Magazine South Coast Property Awards. It was such an honour to be recognised in this way, especially considering the very tough competition in the category, without the incredible passion and commitment of our truly talented team, this would just not possible.

In the words of the judges, we were chosen “for (our) excellence in community engagement, regional contribution, and environmental integration. The ‘listen first’ approach, adaptive designs, and commitment to reusing existing structures set a benchmark for sustainable, community-focused architecture rooted in local identity and long-term impact”.

This is such an achievement as we are still a small practice, just at the start of our journey after six amazing years in business. A huge thank you, goes out to our amazing clients, consultants, contractors and collaborators, that trust us to deliver projects.

South Coast Property Awards

We are thrilled to be included in the shortlist for the South Coast Property Awards,  in the Architectural Practice of the Year category, you can find the full list of shortlists here.

The event highlights the finest professionals in the field – agents, developers, planners, consultants, property lawyers, housebuilders and of course architects! We look forward to the awards evening in June, good luck to all the entrants.

RIBA MacEwen Award longlisted

We are so proud to have our St Lukes project included in this years longlist for the RIBA MacEwen Award, the annual awards that recognise architecture for the common good.

The project has redevelopment the tired church hall to create The Host Café, a community cafe and multi-functional space which has become a vibrant local focal point, hosting events throughout the day and evening.

In total 30 projects have been longlisted in the MacEwen Awards, you can see the full list here, the shortlist will be annouced in early 2025.

 

Build It Awards shortlist

Good news to end the week with, our Holly Cottage project has been selected for the shortlist in this year’s Build It Awards, within the ‘Best Architect or Designer for an Extension Project’ category. We are really quite humbled to be amongst such a talented group of architects recognised in this category, but also delighted to have our work recognised in this way.

The annual Build It Awards celebrate all aspects of self-build and renovation projects; we are looking forward to the awards winners being announced on the 8th November – please keep your fingers crossed for us!
